As the new year approaches I think to myself.....you know what....2013 is going to be my year. I'm sure you guys have noticed that I'm no wallflower and that I don't fade away into the background so I've decided I'm going to allow myself to get even crazier (style-wise that is....I'm already crazy enough) during the next year. So stay tuned skrillas.....its about to get real.......PS I'm even more fired up now to get my crazy on since a commentor this week told me that I could have "toned things down"......bahahah obviously they don't know me!

Today's Copycat Lookbook post (where I find looks I love and put them together with pieces I already own) is inspired by a blog that I started following a while ago and she definitely pushes me to play with color.....you guys need to check out Bittersweet Colours so you can inject some vibrancy into your wardrobes! I saw her rock this burgundy and mustard look a couple of weeks ago and I was like plaid shirt....burgundy blazer and mustard pants...boom, done! 

So...Christmas came and went and it actually was full of surprises! My amazing husband surprised me with a Furla Candy Bag and I was pretty shocked because I had written down on a scrap of paper months ago that I wanted one and thought it had been thrown away....but he saved it this whole time! 

I also got some awesome Stella & Dot goodies from my in-laws (ok I picked them out but still!). You can see my Christmas loot on the What2Wear Facebook page and instagram!!!! PS I'm also excited because I'm heading to my parents house at the beach today and who knows....I might have more surprises there (hopefully some dang Starbucks gift cards!)

I don't know about you guys but this has been one of the most hectic Decembers of my life....I've had several events every week and I'm pretty exhausted. Last night I had a Christmas dinner with some of my (I can't really say former because they are sisters for life) sorority sisters and it was desperately needed. My husband and sweet baby boy both have strep-throat and its been miserable in our household for the past several days. This jumpsuit and a couple glasses of wine have been the only things keeping me going.....a lunch date with Molly certainly helped too!! I'll say have a happy weekend skrillas with the last bit of energy I have left :)

Good morning skrillas....I apologize for not getting back to your comments this weekend but its a been a little cray around here and I promise I will tonight! Anywhos, you guys know that I'm usually clad in husband repelling apparel and mom gear on a daily basis but during the holidays I've had so many events and parties that playing some dress up has been required.

With this dress from eshakti I was actually able to chose the neckline AND the hemline....yes....you heard me right. Being super petite I have to get about 75% of my clothes altered, especially dresses. So when I was ordering and I got to type in my height and then choose the length of my dress I was really excited.......then when I received it and actually tried it on I was even more excited!! Ok I'll be honest......feeling like a pretty girl every now and then is fun.......but don't get used to this!!!!!!

Oh by the way Molly and I were talking about eshakti at and event a couple of weeks ago and realized we had ordered the SAME dress.....you can check hers out here!!!! Crazy right? PS the winner of the Stella & Dot giveaway will be on Wednesday!

Hello friends.......today I'm off to Myrtle Beach for my family's 10th annual outlet shopping trip....yea, we're that cool. Every year two weeks before Christmas we hit the outlets like its our job and usually our car is so loaded down with bags that we look like we just robbed a department store.

The trip means more than ever now because two years ago during the trip I had a meltdown about the possibility of never being able to have children because of a possible medical condition I had just been informed of......now let me set the record straight, I wasn't planning on having kids for another 10 years but the thought of never being able to scared the mess out of me........ The Monday after we got back from Myrtle I........found out I was pregnant. SHOCK of a LIFETIME. But the best surprise of my life!!!!

Anywhos, do you guys want to know what just ruffles my feathers? When people think that activities like running errands and shopping mean that you don't have to wear "real clothes." Um, are you out of your house? Then you NEED to be wearing "real clothes" friends........please stop wearing your sweatpants to the mall. Clinton and Stacey have been preaching this for almost as long as our annual shopping trip.....how have you not picked up on that yet?!!!

Happy Monday skrillas. This past weekend I was thrilled to be a part of a Stella & Dot, fab'rik and GrayLee Designs trunk show. And on a sidenote I know you all are like ok Brooke, enough with the printed pants.....but I just can't get enough of them, ps my next outfit does not include them! As I was getting ready for the trunk show a piece of paper fell out of my wallet that I've had since I was 12 that was given to me by one of the best teachers I've ever had.......it read:

I have to admit that when I was 12 I understood the meaning of the poem but not to an extent that I do now 12 years later. The past 2 years of my life have taught me that although it may seem like dawn always goes down day.... it is your CHOICE to try to "stay gold". So, in this world that seems to be spinning out of control, how do you remember to "stay gold"?

My reminder is a beautiful 16 month old baby boy named Andrew Franklin Allen aka "doodle bug".

And now that I'm done throwing that thought-provoking curveball at you guys I would just like to say thank you to all of my readers that encourage and support me on a daily basis.....so I'm giving away a gold (and yes that was on purpose in light of today's post haha) Stella & Dot Renegade Cluster Bracelet.
