     You guys, it is safe to say that I have an obsession with Anna Dello Russo......I'm seriously in awe of her style and the deeper I dig into her philosophies on fashion the more I grow to love her. So today's Copycat Lookbook is inspired by ADR herself....I've been staring at this photo since fashion week thinking of a way to recreate it...because the Copycat Lookbook series is all about putting together looks with items I already own and all.... and last week it donned on me. I don't have a green jacquard jacket and pale pink pants......BUT I do have a pale pink jacket and green jacquard pants....plus a blue button up, crazy sunnies and an awesome clutch!!!!!! PS the shopping bag I'm holding is full of some vintage goodies I picked up during this photo sesh that I can't wait to show you guys!)

I know this outfit may seem kind of cray cray but I have to be honest....its one of my favorites, ever. By channeling Anna I almost feel more powerful and free to be me, that's what fashion does to me......I walk around every day literally with my heart on my sleeve. I figured I would leave you with some of my favorite ADR quotes, because fashion should be fun and full of joy.......(PSS I REALLY enjoyed hearing about the items in your closet's that make your spouse's cringe!!!!)

When I'm having a stressful week I tend to pick items of clothing that make me feel like I'm more in control of my surroundings....this week was one of those weeks. So, if you hadn't noticed I've been donning navy blue all week because it makes me feel good, ya dig? 

Here's a little fun fact for ya, studies have shown that American's are more likely to trust someone wearing navy blue than any other color...so yes, I feel a little more in control right now. I also just love navy because it was one of my wedding colors.

Also, if you haven't noticed, What2Wear is getting a little facelift....do you like/love the new logo that Molly did for me ?!!!!

A little recap for ya

The Best of Both Worlds

There were several reasons why this weekend was AWESOME.......

1. my parents watched the doodle bug so that Sam and I could finally use our gift certificate to the Raleigh Walking Food Tours that we received as a wedding present....if you would like to see the amazing food we tried you can check out the new What2Eat section on the What2Wear facebook page here

2. the hubs and I got to go to a local bar at 3 in the afternoon and day drink and stuff our faces with pizza like it was our job......(parents of 14 month old baby boy do not get to day drink....or really drink at all for that matter haha) 

      2 a. getting to wear this cobalt blue jacket that i've had in my closet for 5 years and never worn, was it to a whole-in-the-wall bar, yes, erroneous on all accounts

3. because I had so much free time I got to read some ifb articles including 100 Reasons Why It's Great to be a Blogger where I found several reasons that were most definitely written for me....

7. being fortunate enough to have the best of both worlds by getting to spend some quality time with the hubs and getting to see my baby doodle light up when experiencing new things

Do you ever feel like tapping into your dark side? I know you guys may perceive me as having a pretty girly style but I actually love all things black and piles of eyeliner and dark lipstick....so ya know what....boom, this outfit just happened! I'm so excited to show you guys these new Rag & Bone pants because I'll be honest...I want to wear them every single day of the week. Its kind of hard to tell from the pictures but they look like leather in person and they have a ton of zippers and they make me want to actually show my dark side....so stay tuned, my style discovery is about to take a dark twist....!

Hi my name is Brooke and I'm a colored-denim-aholic...now with 8 different colors in my wardrobe....anywhos, funny story about me and the color pink; when I was younger I used to lurve pink, I wore it literally every day...then I went through a phase for several years where I hated it and would not touch it...and that's just not fair to pink, it never did anything to me! But now thankfully I'm liking pink again, especially with white if you hadn't noticed....I bet you are thinking, blerg, I can't believe I just took the time to read about this chick's thoughts and feelings on the color pink....sometimes I forget you guys aren't doodle and you don't care about that stuff...ooopsies!

Holy moses, when I first saw this necklace on the cover of the Stella & Dot summer look book I knew I had to have it! If there is one necklace you need to add to your summer accessories wardrobe my pick would be the Cameron Pendant. The coral inspiration is from the Amalfi Coast on the Mediterranean Sea where the design team took actual samples of coral and then hand casted the molds so the pedant has an authentic coral shape. It adds just the right amount of nautical and whimsy to every ensemble.....if I hadn't already bought it for myself then I would have asked for it for my birffday, which is tomorrow! ( Insert shameless birthday reminder!)
