Old Friends

sweater: madewell (similar here) // jeans: one teaspoon (available here)// jacket: old, similar here // bag: 3.1 phillip lim (similar here) // shoes: sam edelman (here) // sunnies: ray ban (available here) // necklaces: tiffany & co and stella & dot

Day 8 of the Who What Wear 30 Day Wardrobe Challenge was "wear an item you haven't worn in at least 6 months"…..which just so happened to be my Sam Eldelman Okala pumps. On this particular day I was super busy with 2 meetings and event (and obviously Doodle was with me)….so I needed to look put together yet still be able to chase around a crazy 2 year old. A leather jacket, boyfriend jeans and interesting (yet comfortable) shoes helped me pull the entire day off…..with a little help from some coffee and Kashi granola bars.

Speaking of keeping busy….. This Sunday March 9th Belk and the Junior League of Raleigh are rolling out the red carpet for spring fashion with a private fashion show and shopping gala at Belk of Crabtree Valley Mall from 5:00-10:00 featuring a personal appearance by renowned fashion designer Trina Turk.

In addition to the fashion show with models sporting Belk’s newest spring collections and Trina Turk’s Spring Collection of dresses, contemporary sportswear and swimwear, attendees will enjoy refreshments, live entertainment, Red Carpet giveaways, prize drawings and a Belk coupon good for 20 percent off purchases of regular and sale priced merchandise (15 percent off home and shoes) with very limited exclusions.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Junior League website, http://www.jlraleigh.org/?nd=fashion_forward, or at Belk of Crabtree Valley Mall. Ticket prices are $75 for VIP and $25 for general admission. VIP admission begins at 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. for general admission. The fashion show will start at 7:30 p.m. followed by a shopping event/meet and greet with Trina Turk from 8 – 10 p.m. and Red Carpet prize giveaways beginning at 8 p.m.

Day 4 of the Who What Wear 30 day Wardrobe Challenge was "boyish" which is obviously achieved with the sweatshirt, boyfriend jeans, beanie and leather jacket…….but i love balance with any look so the powder blue heels and statement bag did the trick.

PS a couple of updates…..last Sunday the Doodle Bug peed in his potty for the first time #humblebrag; also I started a Tumblr page which you can find here because I love to keep all of my visual inspiration on my desktop (Yes, Pinterest, I'm cheating on you)…..and last thank you again for everyone who came out to my Loft event last week….you can see the pics and get some spring style tips from the event on the Facebook page here.

I started the Who What Wear 30 Day Wardrobe Challenge this weekend and here is the first look: "Bright Color Combo"….and yes that suit totally counts as a bright color combo for someone who lives in neutrals!…….

PS thank you thank you for everyone who came out to my Loft event last night, it really meant the world to see each and every one of you ;) Not to mention I not only got Mia to go out of her comfort zone and try on a jumpsuit….but she actually bought it….#winning.

So this is the progression from Monday afternoon getting frozen yogurt in the 65 degree weather….. to Tuesday with a 30 degree temperature drop (in my fave vintage blazer)….. to Wednesday morning waking up to a winter wonderland and Doodle's 1st snow. Strike My Fancy

sweater: old, similar here // jacket: gap (similar here) // coat: zara (similar here) // skirt: vintage via bolo (lurving this one // shoes: schutz (available here) // bag: loeffler randall (similar here) // sunnies: ray ban (similar here) // gloves: wilson's leather (similar here)

Don't ask me why but every now and then I fall madly in love with mustard yellow….maybe its because most people hate it or maybe its because its so much more saturated than lemon yellow. This vintage yellow skirt screamed out at me a while back and I knew it needed to be mine……I cannot wait to wear it with a white tee and some summer sandals but for now its over the knee boots and several layers……and if you'll excuse me it snowed a couple of inches last night and Doodle has never seen snow…..Snow day!!!!!!!

Day 28: Made Roasted Red Pepper & Ginger Soup…..and bonus because Doodle ate some!
