Well skrillas.....its been a year. I won't go into the whole "I started this blog not knowing what I was doing and I have learned so much" spiel, although it is true......but rather I want to explain why I started, because I feel like my reasons are very different than most. After (VERY UNEXPECTEDLY) becoming a mother, getting married and buying a house my life took a turn that I never saw coming. I had dreams of finishing my degree in fashion marketing, hopefully moving to New York one day and being a stylist or editor for some fabulous company. But life, life throws you curves.....beautiful, adorable, amazing curves. I'm a wife and a mother now and I never expected to be this happy in such a role. I started What2Wear (the name came from my lisence plate) because I wanted to keep the strong ties, respect and adoration I have for fashion. It is an unrelenting fascination I will always have no matter what I'm doing with my life.
In all honesty I owe coming out of my shell and finally not being afraid to try new things to my new role of wife and mother.....I've never been this comfortable and happy with who I am until Sam and Andrew came into my life. With that new confidence over the past year I have knocked down my own insecurities and have really started to enjoy this experience.
The latter part of the year (after actually wishing and praying and hoping) I caught my big break. I found Molly.......I just happened to be reading her blog when I noticed she lived near me and I got giddy with excitement and sent her an email asking her to lunch one day (which was big for me....I NEVER do stuff like that). We quickly became friends...because she is amazing and its hard not to love her......and along with Mia (who is also incredibly kind and stylish) we created trifabb.
Molly designed the new site and has become my photographer and finally it feels like everything is coming together. I'm so proud of this little blog.....its like my second child. Its hard pouring your heart and soul into something and knowing that you love it but being unsure if anyone else will. And yea I get really freaking annoyed with "nice blog, please follow me".......or "cute" but I have to thank those of you out there that are interested in what I have to say as well as my style, it honestly means the world to me that you take time out of your day to visit me.
I always think its funny when people see me or meet me for the first time because their first impression is always like.....who is this little blonde chick.....wait, she has a baby?! Wait, is that a tattoo?! Yea, after a year....I figured I would let you guys see a peak of my tat that I got courtesy of my first week of college six years ago.....I loved it then and I love it now (its a tiara by the way).
So I just want to say thank you to my mom and husband (when they hate an outfit I always know its blogging gold) and for their love and support......also to my family and my husband's family, thank you for believing in me.......I still have so much more to do in life and I know you will be right there with me. Also to my sweet baby doodle man, I'm actually crying as I write this because you are the little miracle that changed my life and I will forever be grateful to you for that. Thank you to my friends that have given me so much courage through their support (you know who you are :)Thank you to Molly for the extraordinary amount of work you have done for me and for being such an amazing friend and thank you to you guys.......you make this whole experience worth it and I hope to continue building more friendships as I carry on.
PS I figured what better way to start the year off with the Pantone color of the year, emerald green!!!
Molly and I enjoying our cupcakes from Gigi's......yum to the o
