"Wounds are no longer visible to others when they heal. However, memories and emotions remain. Without knowing words can sting vulnerable spots where wounds have previously healed. We should always try hard to be mindful and encouraging. In other words, master the art of exhortation. Encourage others today and remember that God heals your wounds if so accept."

The way of life goes….just when you think you can't handle anymore something else smacks you in the face. Then something else….then other people's something else……until you are literally a ball of nerves waiting for the next event to make you stress eat yourself into oblivion…..right now I'm that ball of nerves……and I'm really hoping that something gives soon, because it has to.

Letting Go and Pumped Up Kicks

dress: vintage (similar here) // pants: rag and bone (similar here) // jacket: madewell (similar here) // shoes: man repeller x superga (here) // bag: vintage chanel (loving this one) // watch: michael kors (available here) // rings: stella & dot
Day 12 of the Who What Wear 30 Day Wardrobe Challenge was "swap out your heels for sneaks". You know when you are already feeling in the dumps about yourself and then life comes and kicks you when you are down and then you stress eat everything in sight for like 3 days? Then Monday morning smacks you in the face and you just have to shake everything off and say "let that sh*t go….just let it go". Then everything fades away when your son walks in and hands you one of his monster boogers and kisses you and tells you he loves you……….Monday's mantra……let it go and love your life.

The New Classics

Ever since I turned 25 last June my whole mindset on clothing changed. Now that Andrew is a running, speaking and potty training in progress toddler my wardrobe has to work over time…..I literally don't have time to think about what to wear anymore. So I've worked hard to stock my closet with some "new" classics. My camel coat has obviously been working overtime….distressed denim almost every day, instead of a black mom bag my Phillip Lim cream 31 hour bag has lead the way and obviously my Derek Lam animal print boots (yes I now own multiple pairs) have injected my quirk into every outfit. So…..what are some classics that you guys can't live without these days?

New Things: See original post here

Day 39: tried a new salad from Mimi's….it had goat cheese and walnuts….and I'm obsessed

Day 40: tried the Mushroom, Leek & Gruyere Omelette from my favorite French restaurant…..will def be making it for myself soon

If you are a size 7/7.5…..an XS or a 23/24 then you know that everything you LOVE immediately sells out the day a shipment comes in…..I've learned from a lot of heartache that if I'm going to snag something I love it needs to be the season before its actually appropriate to wear it….Ever since I got my hands on these Stuart Weitzman gladiator sandals I've been itching to wear them. Annddd since it looks a little too spring like to wear them with shorts I thought um let's show them off over my pants on the next mild day…..so that's exactly what I did……and I'm kind of obsessed with the outcome…..

PS guys……I'm so freaking excited to announce that my dear friend and fashionista Ellen started  her blog yesterday. The first time I met Ellen back in  2012 we literally had an hour long conversation about her starting a blog and I'm thrilled and honored to be her photographer and help her start it!! You are going to want to stop what you are doing and go check her out!!!!

Well friends, winter has officially hit NC….I mean, I'm not complaining because as I've mentioned before I've been acquiring hats, boots and scarves since August so I was ready…..but layers are definitely needed right now. I'll tell you right now my best friends are my scarves…..learning to tie them in different ways each day has made every outfit seem so fresh and relevant. Do you guys have any items that are helping you beat the winter doldrums?
