Yesterday I got a package in the mail from a very dear friend with a coffee mug that said "keep not settling" and a note that had me ugly crying (I have the most incredible friends by the way). It was nice to be reminded that I'm finally on the right path…. A couple of months ago I packed up and left a life I had settled for and have been busting my ass to create a new one that I'm happy with and proud of. Its not easy and somedays its hard not to wonder if I made the right decision….but in the words of Sugarland…...

Last week I mentioned that I did yet another closet clean out and this time it went down to the basics. Lately I've been craving my favorite pieces and items that can be mixed and matched with everything in  my wardrobe. I instantly fell in love with this dress a couple of months ago and have been waiting to wear it for a date night……which I was lucky enough to have last Sunday. After wearing it to dinner I can't wait to wear  it more casually tucked into a skirt with flats. These days less really is more to me.

As I mentioned I've been shooting the Who What Wear 30 Day Wardrobe Challenge out of order and I've been done with it for several months now….but I'm determined to show every look on the blog so here is the "give a feminine dress edge with a moto jacket". Obviously I did my own spin on this with a denim moto jacket and my new favorite gold Vanessa Mooney choker. Today I'm heading off to the beach to celebrate my big sister from my sorority's wedding and I couldn't be more excited. Sun, sand, getting to see old friends and lotssssss of seafood….does life get any better? Oh and a million outfit changes doesn't hurt :)

Day 16 of the Who What Wear 30 Day Wardrobe Challenge was "go monochrome in a bright color".
You've probably noticed I'm not a big fan of dresses…..a. they are almost always too long and b. I can't really run around after a 2 year old in them. However, I have a weakness for anything stripped and when I saw that this dress came in Petite it was game over….it made it through an afternoon at the park including train rides and the sand box…what more can you really ask for?

Day 12 of the Who What Wear 30 Day Wardrobe Challenge was "swap out your heels for sneaks". You know when you are already feeling in the dumps about yourself and then life comes and kicks you when you are down and then you stress eat everything in sight for like 3 days? Then Monday morning smacks you in the face and you just have to shake everything off and say "let that sh*t go….just let it go". Then everything fades away when your son walks in and hands you one of his monster boogers and kisses you and tells you he loves you……….Monday's mantra……let it go and love your life.

Day 9 of the Who What Wear 30 Day Wardrobe Challenge was "wear the hat you claim you can't pull off." You know when you're at the point where if you see one more neon tulle skirt you might vomit? I'm there, I've been there, I was over it the first 30 times……why not something chic like a jumpsuit with some vintage Chanel to go out to dinner in? And a word for the wise…If you are going to do a fabric like tulle than make it fierce and offset it with dark colors and more structured shapes like Sheree did here…… stepping off my style soapbox now :)
