Ok so its no surprise that I lurve me some printed pants....... They are a closet staple because they allow me to run around after a 16 month old doodle man and look dang chic while doing it!!!! I used to only wear dresses and skirts (for like the first 20 something years of my life I kid you not) but after becoming a parent....pants are just way more practical.....and after all I started this blog to document my style and how it changed after becoming a mom. So here's to never wearing "mom jeans" and rocking out some printed pants!!! 2013 is going to be full of them!

PS these may or may not be in the mail as we speak......oopsies :)

PS I'm linking up with Molly again today so be sure to check that out!

Happy Monday skrillas. This past weekend I was thrilled to be a part of a Stella & Dot, fab'rik and GrayLee Designs trunk show. And on a sidenote I know you all are like ok Brooke, enough with the printed pants.....but I just can't get enough of them, ps my next outfit does not include them! As I was getting ready for the trunk show a piece of paper fell out of my wallet that I've had since I was 12 that was given to me by one of the best teachers I've ever had.......it read:

"Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay."

-Robert Frost

I have to admit that when I was 12 I understood the meaning of the poem but not to an extent that I do now 12 years later. The past 2 years of my life have taught me that although it may seem like dawn always goes down day.... it is your CHOICE to try to "stay gold". So, in this world that seems to be spinning out of control, how do you remember to "stay gold"?

My reminder is a beautiful 16 month old baby boy named Andrew Franklin Allen aka "doodle bug".

And now that I'm done throwing that thought-provoking curveball at you guys I would just like to say thank you to all of my readers that encourage and support me on a daily basis.....so I'm giving away a gold (and yes that was on purpose in light of today's post haha) Stella & Dot Renegade Cluster Bracelet. This little baby is on backorder through Christmas and has been seen on the likes of Katy Perry and Blair from Atlantic-Pacific.  Soooo thank you skrillas and remember to "stay gold." :)

triFABB Meetup and Pumpkin Froyo

outfit deets: dress: fab'rik  (similar here )// jacket: the limited // shoes: shoemint  // necklace & "hope" bracelet: stella & dot

Hello friends, sorry if I'm not my usual bubbly self. A couple nights ago life just kind of crept up and smacked me in the face and I'm definitely not sad I'm just...seeing things a little different, but different in a good way. Anywhos.... last night was the October TriFabb meet up at Graffiti Frozen Yogurt in Durham and let me tell you guys if you live in the Triangle and you haven't been to that place yet then you don't know what you are missing. My favorite flavor was most definitely the pumpkin and the amount of toppings they had kind of boggled my mind.....Plus, its always fun meeting new people and getting to hear why they blog and what they blog about. You are probably thinking....why are so dressed up just to go to a froyo place.....well skrillas, that's because I am a stay at home mom and frozen yogurt and a Stella & Dot trunk show is most definitely a reason for me to make myself snazzy. I actually bought this dress for my birthday back in June from fab'rik but I'm kind of a munchkin so I had to get it taken up quite a few inches and just this week got around to doing that....... So now that's its the end of October I threw on a jacket and some booties and made it more Fall appropriate if you will....even though it got up to 83 here yesterday.....

If you would like to see the doodle bug (and let's face it you know you want to) you can follow me on instagram @doodlesmom812 and for more behind the scenes you can check out the What2Wear facebook page here

The loverly ladies of TriFabb........and a huge thank you to Graffiti, seriously people, go check them out!!!

PS if you haven't yet then please check out and vote for my StyleMint outfit here and thank you thank you thank you again to those of you who have already voted for me!!!
