Chew Beads & Shamrock Shakes

So I found the coolest thing today while I was out shopping with the doodle bug, they're called Chew Beads and its jewelry that little nibblers, like doodle, can actually chew on safely! I snagged this orange one and I wish I could get every color because my little man tries to put every piece of jewelry I own in his mouth. Plus, its a fun way to sport the neon trend. Tonight will be spent watching Leap Year and enjoying a Shamrock Shake from McDonalds (while sporting my new necklace of course), Happy Leap Year :)

Ok so I either need to stop going downtown or I need to just go ahead and indulge in one of those hot dogs from a street vendor, after my final dress fitting today (with my dress still a little big) I might actually indulge in one tonight! Man Spring is almost here, can you feel it? I most certainly can and I plan on spending every second outside that I possibly can....and wearing as much color as I can throw on too :) Burnt orange, check, turqoise, check, lavender shoes, check!!!! 

Recipe for Mom on the Go...In the Rain

This recipe calls for:   *a trench coat (there is nothing cuter than wearing a trench as a dress in my     opinion, Catherine Deneuve style)

                                    *an umbrella (for obvious reasons)

                                   * leather gloves (if cold outside, your hands get cold holding an umbrella, duh)

                                   * cross-over purse (because getting a baby and a stroller and the 12 other things you have to get out of the car when its raining is hard enough, make it easier by wearing a no-fuss purse)

Directions: blend together and try to keep yourself sane :)

American Woman

Can I just start off by saying enough already with the sweatpants and uggs in public people, seriously, I don't care if you went out last night and had too much to drink and can't see straight. Throw on some actual clothes and get yourself a cup of coffee, sheesh ( I don't mind leggings with boots though, that's understandable haah). Anywho, for a lot of people clothes are just items that they put on in the morning to get through the day, I know I have mentioned this before but clothes hold more meaning to me than that. I got this t-shirt at the American Woman exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art when my parents surprised me with a trip to New York a couple of years ago. It was a celebration of American fashion from the past 200 years and it was amahhhzing. I mean what's more American than jeans and a t-shirt? I don't usually wear t-shirts but I absolutely LOVE this one and it makes me happy. And that's what clothes should do, make you happy :) 

Pandora & A Fedora

I would like to start off by asking if anyone has noticed that downtown Raleigh smells like hotdogs? I'm not complaining, actually its pretty awesome! Anywho, the other night after Wrigley ate half of our dinner off the counter I was in the worst mood when I went to buy some formula at Walmart...and then I found this fedora...and naturally I had to get it. Then this morning for some reason when I woke up I was in a foul mood sooo I put on Pandora....and decided to don my new fedora. Its amazing how good your favorite music and a $7 hat can just make your day! I'm loving that ladylike bags are in right now so I decided to give Louis a break for the day and carry a much smaller bag...oh and can we talk about the fact that I'm wearing purple pants? Yea....not usually my cup of tea but I am loving these Joe's Jeans, what do you guys think?

Spring Is That You?

In my head for some reason I had determined that on March 1st I was going to bust all of my Spring stuff out and just go crazy with colors and prints...buttt it was 75 degrees today so whatevs I brought it out early! Not that it was a crazy Winter or anything and I know it will be 50 again soon but I just had to bring out this printed maxi skirt, I don't know what it is about maxi skirts that just makes me want to dance and prance around but I love it! I thought it was pretty funny when I was reading one of my favorite blogs today and the girl said she had on 3 different prints and didn't realize it because in her head they were all neutrals and they went together...its kinda exactly like me! I'm not afraid to mix prints if you haven't noticed in fact I would say its one of my trademarks. :)

Ok, those of who you know me probably start laughing when you think of me as a housewife and mother, its still pretty funny to me when I think about it. My days are now spent cooking and cleaning and taking care of a doodle man ALL DAY LONG. Now I don't mind this, not at all, BUT after I just got done cooking dinner for an hour and I go upstairs to grab something and when I come down half of the chicken we were supposed to eat is missing and our dog Wrigley is licking her lips I get a little pissed off, ok, I get a lot pissed off. But I'm trying to put it in perspective because at least we still have food to eat and I was really loving my outfit today! PS I made the middle necklace I'm wearing with the inspiration from ispydiy.com...that girl is awesome!! I hope you guys didn't have your dog eat your dinner :)

Lucky

I follow all of the major bloggers religously and after seeing all of their posts the past week about how they got to go to fashion week and were given all of these clothes and accessories by their favorite designers and blah blah blah.....yes, I got a little jealous, I'm human. I've always been obsessed with fashion, I think about it from the time I wake up until I go to sleep at night and I've always wanted a career in it...but life throws you speed bumps, some not so great and some that are life changing. After seeing those posts I thought wow, they are soo lucky but then I look over and see the greatest accessory a girl can have.....a doodle man! So really, they should be looking at my post and thinking wow, she is soo lucky :)

Mint Julep

This outfit made me really wish I was holding a mint julep! It was a mix of several of my favorite items: floppy hats, fun prints, tie-necks and menswear shoes. It snowed here last night and the scenery was beautiful to wake up to...and now its sunny and beautiful outside. I'll be honest....I just keep thinking of being out on the boat in a floppy hat (holding a mint julep...) with my family and little floaties for the doodle man...Spring please get here!

Insert Foot In Mouth

Well I really put my foot in my mouth this time, silly me prancing around yesterday chatting about Spring and warm weather...its flippin freazing here and supposed to snow tonight. I'm not too upset though because I still have a couple of items in my closet that deserve to be worn before the season is over like this amahhzing white faux fur vest. My husband told me I looked like Little Bo Peep and/or one of the sheep she was herding ....and you know what...I'll take it! Sorry you can't really see my outfit but it was pouring and the wind was blowing like crazy soooo there it is. I hope I see you guys back here tomorrow :)

Today's post is brought to you by my jogging stroller, my ipad and a glass of strawberry wine. Being a full time mom I technically don't get a "weekend' so I brought the weekend to me. My stroller has an ipod jack with speakers and several cupholders so I decided to spice up my daily walk with the doodle man. I know it technically isn't Spring yet but I just can't help myself, it got up to 67 degrees here today!!! I decided to bust out some of my warm weather essentials like some jellies and my fave Anna Sui scarf!! Hope you are having a fabulous quote, unquote weekend :)

So many women think that jeans are the hardest thing to buy....well...I think that a good pair of shorts are way more difficult to come by. Either they are too long or too short, too loose or too tight...the list goes on and on (I'm sometimes feel like Goldylocks trying to find the right poridge). I'm always on the lookout for a good pair and when I find some I snatch them up! These little cuties from 7 for all mankind are just right :) And since it was a beautiful afternoon here in Raleighwood it prompted an outing to the farmer's market which called for the perfect casual pair of shorts. You will definitely be seeing these again! PS here is another look from Fashion Week that I'm crushing on from Rodarte, Happy Friday!

Eek it's time for another Blogger's Do It Better post! This month is.....Red! Man I love red, I would wear the color every day if I could find the right shades for my skin tone. Speaking of red...since it is still February (Heart Awareness) I learned a little fact that I figured I would share: 90% of all women have at least one risk factor they have the power to change to prevent heart disease, that's INSANE....so ladies....please do something for your heart today :) Also, another look I'm LOVING from Fashion Week is this red ensemble from DVF.....amahhhhzing.
