I'm a firm believer that people's life experiences shape their personal style. A few years ago frills and tulle and bows were actually quite attractive to me.....and then my crazy, balls to the wall, dirt and outdoor loving baby boy came along. As you can see he is no baby anymore. The older and more rough and tumble he becomes subsequently the more rough and tumble I become. So you know what...you can have the frills.....I love this new life and style :)

Can't Get Enough

I know the temps down south have remained in the 90's for several weeks…..but I just can't get enough leather right now. While everyone else is wearing Lilly Pulitzer sundresses with Jack Rogers it feels almost rebellious to throw on a vintage leather skirt with some lace up heels and just go with it.

There comes a point in your life (and your style) when you have to ask yourself "do I want to do what makes me happy and follow my own path.....or do I want to be a people pleaser like the girl next door that's relatable......" I made my choice several years ago and I've never looked back.....cheers to turning 26 :)

Those of you that know me know that I'm not your typical "fit and flare" kinda of gal....especially with heels...... However, I fell hard for the print of this dress and decided it had to be mine. Paired with some frisky little fringe heels and no jewelry except a chunky gold watch.....I think I made it my own.

Not complaining…..but with the temps getting into the mid 90s several days last week it was hard to even put real clothes on. A breezy fringe top…..floaty skirt and sandals were all I could handle……. however, the spray from the water and the smell of salt in the air makes every moment worth it to be outside…. cannot wait to be back at the beach.

A couple of weekends ago I felt the urge to go home to the beach…..and every weekend since then actually. I threw on my favorite silk tunic, a jacket and some gladiators. In my bag was my favorite denim skirt, a bathing suit and two pairs of shoes……Three outfits later I was beginning to see the potential with multifunctional items. If something you love if sheer….buy a slip…….toss a jacket over an old dress and wear it as a skirt…..or tuck a thin tunic into a skirt and wear it as a blouse. My point here is buy items that you love…….and make them work until they literally fall apart on you…..here you go……
