Growing up in a household where my holidays were split between families was pretty difficult if I'm going to be honest. Over the years it became easier and eventually like second nature but something always felt off. Those of you that have been following me for a while or even just recently know that I'm currently going through a separation….and this Thanksgiving is the first one I will be spending without my son because he will be with his father. Tearing up as I write this because I never thought I would be on this end of things….having to "split" our child for the holidays and all that comes along with that. However, I am very thankful for the fact that Andrew has so many incredible people that love him and that he will be spending this holiday with a group of people that I still (and will always) consider my family and he couldn't be in better hands. Also thankful that I have the pleasure of spending Thanksgiving with my parents in their new home in Virginia Beach. Hope you all enjoy your time letting those who mean the most to you know how thankful you are for them…..enjoying an insane amount of good food……watching football and the Macy's Day Parade…..and enjoying life :)

This was definitely one of those "make it work" days…..naturally I was running late trying to get doodle ready for school (getting him dressed has become an epic battle every morning) and did not have time to think about getting myself dressed. I started out with a neutral monochromatic base (as usual) and then thought ahhhh I need something simple, chic and a little dramatic to add some flare…..then boom….my vintage Burberry trench…..derrrr :)

PS I love how Sheree has been wearing her faux furs on the outside of her coats so I tried it out and it gave just the right amount of luxe and warmth to the look.

Merry Christmas!! Sam, Doodle and myself are all still very sick but the hubs stayed up all night building Doodle's train set so he would see it when he came downstairs this morning. As I'm typing this Doodle is still asleep and I know the look on his face will make all of this worth it. As soon as he gets up and see's his presents we are heading to the beach for Christmas number 3….hope you guys are having a wonderful day.

I wore both of these ensembles to fashion shows last month and I have to say my favorite part about both of these is that neither "dress" is an actual dress. The first little number is a vintage Burberry wool liner from a trench coat and when I found it I couldn't wait to wear it as a vest but thought it would look really freaking cool belted as a dress. The second look is actually a belted kimono and I can't take credit for this because my girls at fab'rik had the idea to make it into a dress. Its not hard to see I'm crushing on all things fringe right now....and have recently acquired more....oopsies.
