From Froyo to Snow

So this is the progression from Monday afternoon getting frozen yogurt in the 65 degree weather….. to Tuesday with a 30 degree temperature drop (in my fave vintage blazer)….. to Wednesday morning waking up to a winter wonderland and Doodle's 1st snow. Shorts one day and 4 layers the next…..happy weekend friends…..stay warm :)

Don't ask me why but every now and then I fall madly in love with mustard yellow….maybe its because most people hate it or maybe its because its so much more saturated than lemon yellow. This vintage yellow skirt screamed out at me a while back and I knew it needed to be mine……I cannot wait to wear it with a white tee and some summer sandals but for now its over the knee boots and several layers……and if you'll excuse me it snowed a couple of inches last night and Doodle has never seen snow…..Snow day!!!!!!!

As recently as last month when the weather was getting up to 70 degrees here in NC, I was beginning to wonder if I had been too over zealous in my search for the perfect winter coats….and thus purchasing several of them…until now. With the temps dropping down to single digits I'm very happy with my decision to scour the internet and several vintage stores for some warm toppers. Its safe to say I have on 5 layers in this ensemble (3 of which you can see) and I'm pretty sure there will be no more bare ankles for a while……sartorial sad face ensue…

Fresh to Death

Every day I'm thankful for where we live…the State Farmer's Market is about 3 miles from our house and Doodle and I go about every other day to pick up fruits and veggies with the change I steal from Sam! Across from the farmer's market is a (farm themed) restaurant that sources everything from the market…..the wait staff wear overalls and its decorated with John Deere tractors so needless to say Doodle loves it. This past weekend I tried their Garden Veggie Omlet with fresh salsa and it honestly tasted like the eggs had been gathered that morning and the tomatoes were picked off the vine before arriving at the table…. Even better, about a mile down the road is the back way into downtown Raleigh….fresh to death if you ask me :)

Friday morning I woke up knowing something was off…..I threw on a verrry casual and comfy outfit for our normal museum circuit and tried to make it through the day. On Saturday morning I went for a quick coffee date with Sam and Doodle downtown and when we got home a stomach virus hit me like a ton of bricks….the kind that makes your body feel like its attacking itself. But on Sunday morning I was feeling a little better and after the past couple of days of taking it easy I'm finally (almost) back to normal….needless to say its been pretty casual around here lately….hope you guys have a fanfreakingtastic weekend :)
