I am ALWAYS on the hunt for the perfect belt….its feels like every time I love one it costs more than a mortgage payment and the ones I can afford for the most part just look cheap. I love going into thrift shops and vintage stores and of course Etsy looking for that one special piece and FINALLY I found it. This little vintage Gucci belt was like a breath of fresh air….it suddenly made one of my winter coats a gorgeous oversize dress……and it made me revisit a pair of trouser jeans that I've had for 6 years….that's the power of finding special pieces that are worth the wait!

The Doodle man and myself have been under the weather the past couple of days but we powered through our annual shopping trip like champs. I don't know about you guys but when I'm sick I crave comfort in the form of my favorite clothes. My 3 favorite scarves…my fave 2 pairs of Rag and Bone jeans, my moto style jean jacket  and some pairs of pony hair Sam Edelman shoes were just the ticket. Saturday night we went to our favorite Brazillian Steakhouse so I at least put a nice outfit on for that (plus I've had this vintage skirt for 5 years now and still have yet to wear it so it was time). Anywhos, wish us luck at the doctor today and remember your vitamin c :))

I read a quote recently that stuck with me…"Cling tight to anything that gives you passion". I don't remember who it was by or where I read it but man it got me thinking. I can't prance around in huge fluffy tulle skirts or heels every day (nor do I want to)….for the most part everyday is spent RUNNING after my child. But I refuse to sacrifice my style so I'm always trying to come up with ways to inject my personality into my mom clothes. This vintage cape did just that. PS who can name the movie that my post title is from?

On days when I get to visit with my friends I always put in a little extra effort while throwing things on.   However, I try to avoid dresses and skirts for the most part because its hard to bend down and chase after a crazy toddler when you are worried your rear end is hanging out. Yesterday a sweatshirt, silk joggers and a leather bomber were just what called to me (I'm craving comfort right now) and to pull it all together some 4 inch pony hair lace up pumps did the trick, my calves got a GREAT workout chasing after crazy pants.

I don't have much to say on the recent phillip lim for Target collaboration (you guys know how much I love my phillip lim) other than I'd rather be a tiger than a sheep...see ya Monday skrillas :)
