Those of you that have been with me from the beginning know that I started this blog after having my son because I had no idea what my style was entering motherhood but still being pretty young. I've tried different looks...some worked...some didn't and some just...blerg. Anyways, I have finally found my sense of direction with my new style, its a little Blair Eadie from Atlantic-Pacific, a little Betty Draper and a little Celia from the movie "The Help." I've come to realize that I love 50's and early 60's silhouettes and I love infusing my mommy style with them. All in all I'm pretty excited that this blog has given me the guts to experiment and finally settle down....and I'm pretty stoked to see what the future holds!! PS, this is a little morning edit, but whats up with people leaving rude comments on blogs lately but trying to pass them off as nice...didn't you ever learn if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all? Sheesh

Love your maxi skirt, you look beautiful. I'm so happy this blog has helped you, totally love your sense of style!
ReplyDeleteI don't get the whole negative comments either, why even take the time to read a blog you don't like?

LOVE LOVE LOVE your style- you always look amazing! You give me confidence that I won't become a sweatpants-dressing mom once I have a baby (not that there's anything wrong with that, I just feel so much better when I dress nice!!!) I'm so glad that you've found your style niche through blogging and I'm so happier that I get to see what you wear everyday because you totally inspire me.

Thank you Allison! I wish you didn't love on the other side of the country because if you lived in North Carolina I'm pretty sure we would be good friends and I would try to raid your closet haha!

Hey Brooke,
ReplyDeleteI was really inspired by "The Help" also. I do love their style and they're hair was amazing. :0) Too bad the maid's never had much style.
I love you stripped skirt with the mint shirt. Lovely mix.
Always,
Tarah and the City
I love that blogging has helped you discover your style voice! And such great style icons to look towards! I think your knotted top + beautiful maxi skirt is just fab... you have great style! I am on a style search of my own... still on that journey... but I guess that is half the fun!

You have an amazing style… it’s very inspiring that you found your new style post baby, most people lose it then.
ReplyDeleteTotally with you on that one, people need to learn manners don’t understand why anyone would visit a blog and take the time to leave rude comments.
