Healing

A lot of changes are happening in my life these days.....and I would be lying if I claimed to not be nervous about them. However, I stopped this morning and thought about how different my life was a year ago at this time......trapped in a situation I never thought I would escape.....trying to fool everyone (including myself) that I was happy and everything was fine......and now, here I am......free as a bird, living in a place I never thought I would be content with (it turns out sometimes coming home is just the ticket), being surrounded by people that truly make me happy and loving my life as I never have before. Healing is a process.....at times it can be incredibly gut wrenching and painful and even when you think you have completely healed new wounds are ripped open......but these last 7 months have taught me that the process is entirely worth the pain and risks......and I'm jumping feet first into the next chapter of my life.

Armor

I recently read a quote that hit pretty close to home…"Sunshine all the time makes a desert." As much as we would like to avoid hard times and just have sunshine and happiness all of the time life just doesn't work that way. I always remind myself that in order to appreciate the good times you have to let bad times hit you, often like a ton of bricks. You build a certain armor….much like this vintage moto jacket has become my outer armor when I'm not quite feeling like myself. I throw this on and immediately feel a little stronger. I'm still working on the inner armor……but nothing comes over night right?

Never Done Learning

One thing this last month has taught me is that you are never done learning...... Whether it be learning how to live again, learning  how to deal with pain or even something as little as learning how to fix a toilet..... Once you accept that you are never done learning life opens up even more.
