As the new year approaches I think to myself.....you know what....2013 is going to be my year. I'm sure you guys have noticed that I'm no wallflower and that I don't fade away into the background so I've decided I'm going to allow myself to get even crazier (style-wise that is....I'm already crazy enough) during the next year. So stay tuned skrillas.....its about to get real.......PS I'm even more fired up now to get my crazy on since a commentor this week told me that I could have "toned things down"......bahahah obviously they don't know me!

Well its Christmas Eve day.....this is honestly the first year that I haven't been excited about presents....my presents that is.......I'm super freaking excited about doodle's presents. My trip to ifbcon in New York was my Christmas gift (which is where I got this sweet t-shirt from!) so all I asked for was Starbucks gift cards in my stocking. I can't wait to see doodle covered in wrapping paper with boxes all around him, it really is a surreal experience this year as far as my mentality towards certain things that used to bring me joy. All I want for Christmas is to be with family and see doodle's eyes light up in front of the tree.......although some Starbucks gift cards would help me stay awake to see that, that last shot will be my face if I don't get any.......Merry Christmas Skrillas :)

I don't know about you guys but this has been one of the most hectic Decembers of my life....I've had several events every week and I'm pretty exhausted. Last night I had a Christmas dinner with some of my (I can't really say former because they are sisters for life) sorority sisters and it was desperately needed. My husband and sweet baby boy both have strep-throat and its been miserable in our household for the past several days. This jumpsuit and a couple glasses of wine have been the only things keeping me going.....a lunch date with Molly certainly helped too!! I'll say have a happy weekend skrillas with the last bit of energy I have left :)

Good morning skrillas....I apologize for not getting back to your comments this weekend but its a been a little cray around here and I promise I will tonight! Anywhos, you guys know that I'm usually clad in husband repelling apparel and mom gear on a daily basis but during the holidays I've had so many events and parties that playing some dress up has been required.

With this dress from eshakti I was actually able to chose the neckline AND the hemline....yes....you heard me right. Being super petite I have to get about 75% of my clothes altered, especially dresses. So when I was ordering and I got to type in my height and then choose the length of my dress I was really excited.......then when I received it and actually tried it on I was even more excited!! Ok I'll be honest......feeling like a pretty girl every now and then is fun.......but don't get used to this!!!!!!

Ok its time for another round of Copycat Lookbook (where I find looks I love and recreate them with items I already own).....and as you can see its a very festive look from the girls over at Golden White Decor. First let me say that the 2 ladies behind this blog are absolutely stunning and they actually inspire me and motivate me on a daily basis with quotes and wisdom that they share....so you need to check them out!! I know you are busy but if you have a second I would like to introduce you to the newest member of my jewelry collection.... The Geneve Lace Pendant Necklace. I love interesting design and pieces that have a story behind them. The Chief Creative Officer's (Blythe Harris) grandmother's ("Dot" in Stella & Dot) father had a lace factory in the early 1920's and when she passed away she left all of the lace samples to Blythe. Blythe was so inspired by the intricacy and textures of the lace that she had the design team create custom vintage inspired pieces including this one that were modeled after the samples. I wish you could see this in person because its absolutely beautiful.

Ok so the second way that I like to wear a brooch is on the lapel of a blazer, it adds just the right amount of quirkyness! This outfit is an extravaganza of favorites, my favorite jorts with my favorite blazer with my favorite marc jacobs jellies with my new favorite brooch. I was feeling so confident in my outfit of favorites that I totally got rebellious and snuck some Chipotle into the cafe at the Natural Science Museum...I hid in the corner and ate it like doodle does when he puts something he's not supposed to in his mouth, what a great day!
