What is it about black and white that just makes everything so timeless? My mom sent me this picture a couple of months ago and I've just been in awe of it ever since. Sometimes I get so caught up trying to make outfits interesting that I get completely overwhelmed, but this one was so different. An ordinary black romper (that I wore throughout my entire pregnancy mind you!) with a white hat and some stunning jewelry....effortless yet the effect kind of blew me away. This outfit reminded me to stop overthinking my outfits and to just go with what I like...not what everyone else likes :)

Apparently I have this thing where I cannot hide my emmotions on my face....if you can see me then you know exactly how I'm feeling. So when this homegirl walked past me during this photo sesh with one of the most hiddeous/inappropriate outfits I've ever seen...my stink face came out and was captured on camera. Hi my name is Brooke and I'm a colored-denim-aholic...now with 8 different colors in my wardrobe....anywhos, funny story about me and the color pink; when I was younger I used to lurve pink, I wore it literally every day...then I went through a phase for several years where I hated it and would not touch it...and that's just not fair to pink, it never did anything to me! But now thankfully I'm liking pink again, especially with white if you hadn't noticed....I bet you are thinking, blerg, I can't believe I just took the time to read about this chick's thoughts and feelings on the color pink....sometimes I forget you guys aren't doodle and you don't care about that stuff...ooopsies!

My sweet Andrew is 10 months old today. He surprises me on a daily basis with how stinking cute he is and on Sunday I got the best surprise so far....he started WALKING!! Those of you that know me know that Andrew was a complete SURPRISE....as in I didn't even know if I wanted to have children at all let alone when I was 23 but he is the most wonderful miracle my husband and I could have ever asked for. Doodle and I both felt like rocking some orange and pattern mixing in our outfits for today and I have to say I love both outfits. Anywho, I'm sure you have heard the phrase "when life hands you lemons you make lemonade," how boring and trite... Soo I just have to say that when life handed me lemons...I opened the fridge and pushed them aside to reach for my coffee creamer, because lawd knows I wouldn't have made it through the past 10 months without that coffee!!

Being a mom is kind of crazy in that weekends don't mean anything anymore...you don't get the day off haha but doodle slept in this morning and then woke up to tell me to hold all of his calls because he is just not ready for it to be Monday again. I was ready because I wanted to show you guys my impromptu beach visit outfit. The hubs told me on Friday that our cable and internet was out for some reason so I said I love you but I'm going to the beach then bahaha. When I'm at the beach I like to be more casual with loose fabrics and beachy prints...so I went with my vintage palazzo pants and a palm print tank and of course my new coral inspired carobella hoops in rose gold, which are stunning in person. Anywho just wanted to say thank you again for the Kreativ blogger award from SideSmile Style...ya'll seriously you need to check this girl out. I think she just has great style and she looks so classy and put together in every ensemble she puts on!!!  I will pass on the spit up covered love tomorrow and hopefully there will be some more wedding pics tomorrow as well :)

I've had this peter pan collar top sitting in my closet and I finally figured out what2wear it with... i'm a firm believer that accessories make the outfit and when I put this ensemble on I stepped back and thought, man this could totally use some studs and a hair bow, what do you think? PS my husband totally caught me trying to sneak tofu and mushrooms into the fried rice I was making last night...epic failure on the trying to sneak in healthy foods for him!

Friday afternoon was spent exploring the natural science museum....because it's doodle's favorite place and mama needs to get outta the house sometimes. I've had these turquise shorts sitting in my closet waiting for the right time to come out and I think paired with some leopard and stripes it was just the right afternoon. Andrew decided he wanted to debut his new polo romper.....he always outshines me :)

Today I was looking through some pics from this Spring and decided to show you my favorite looks from the past couple of months and then I realized....my style has evolved so much recently that these looks aren't just my favorite for Spring, I think they are my favorite looks period..! That last one is a little snippet of my Mother's Day weekend and boy was it a good first Mother's Day as a new mommy (and yes that is the hubs...one of his rare moments that I sweet talked him into getting a picture with me) :)
