Sorry for the absence for the past couple of days, my sweet doodle bug got his first ear infection and he needed mommy's undivided attention. He was feeling a little better today so here we go.....

Anywhos, I have some exciting news to share with you. Today is the first of my new "Copycat Lookbook" feature where I put together outfits inspired by other bloggers and celebrities with items I already own, yea you heard me. Everything in the Lookbook will be items already in my closet..... Because I think it's time I tapped into my closet's full potential!

The first feature is an old school shot of Blair from Atlantic-Pacific. I can't remember when it was from but I bookmarked it and found it the other day. I was so excited that it's gotten cold enough to finally wear some faux fur! I hope you like the new feature and let me know if there are any looks that YOU would like me to recreate :)

Hello....Hello...Hello, I'm back skrillas!!!! And today instead of doing a wish list (because blerg I mean let's start wishing for the items we already have in our closets!) I'm doing a love list. I lurve jewelry....I mean like load me up with 20 pounds of bracelets and necklaces and I'm good to go. So here are some of my favorite pieces in my closet and you guessed it they are all from Stella & Dot ...with the exception of my Tacori engagement ring which tops the list obvi . Also..... I'm pretty excited to start a new feature on the blog beginning this Wednesday called "Copycat Lookbook" and its going to be looks that I've fallen in love with from celebrities and some of my favorite fashion bloggers that I have recreated with items I already own; because isn't that what this little universe is for.....finding new ways to wear things you already love?

Hello friends, sorry if I'm not my usual bubbly self. A couple nights ago life just kind of crept up and smacked me in the face and I'm definitely not sad I'm just...seeing things a little different, but different in a good way. Anywhos.... last night was the October TriFabb meet up at Graffiti Frozen Yogurt in Durham and let me tell you guys if you live in the Triangle and you haven't been to that place yet then you don't know what you are missing. My favorite flavor was most definitely the pumpkin and the amount of toppings they had kind of boggled my mind.....Plus, its always fun meeting new people and getting to hear why they blog and what they blog about. You are probably thinking....why are so dressed up just to go to a froyo place.....well skrillas, that's because I am a stay at home mom and frozen yogurt and a Stella & Dot trunk show is most definitely a reason for me to make myself snazzy. I actually bought this dress for my birthday back in June from fab'rik but I'm kind of a munchkin so I had to get it taken up quite a few inches and just this week got around to doing that....... So now that's its the end of October I threw on a jacket and some booties and made it more Fall appropriate if you will....even though it got up to 83 here yesterday.....

Shaking a Case of "The Mean Reds"

Anyone who has seen Breakfast at Tiffany's (the link will explain if you don't know what I'm talking about) knows what I mean by having a case of the "mean reds". Being blue is inappropriate because you aren't sad, you are just kind of blah. Yesterday I was suffering from a serious case and I pulled out all the stops to shake those feelings....

1. putting on a pair of metallic jeans (aka one of the "loudest" pairs of pants I own).....check

2. getting an iced skinny vanilla latte......check

3. skipping the makeup and accessories (for the most part, you guys know I need at least 2 bracelets and a cocktail ring at all times).....check

4.  running around outside with the doodle bug....check, pretty sure that's what did the trick!

So, I'm curious, what do you guys do to shake a case of the "mean reds?"

Little Red Corvette and a Fashion Turban

I'm pretty sure that my husband was actually embarrassed to be seen with me in this outfit......which he called "loud" and then asked if my headwear was offensive....I was like "you mean my fashion turban? its a fashion turban. Do I look like I'm trying to make a political statement here I mean I have a cartoon car on my sweater and glitter loafers on." That's how I know its a winner...when my husband deems the outfit "loud" and I tend to offend old women at the mall.  Anywhos, for all of you Trifabb members or any fashion or beauty bloggers in the Triangle looking to meet some fellow bloggers our October meet up is tomorrow and its going to be soooo much fun!!! The Best of Both Worlds

There were several reasons why this weekend was AWESOME.......

1. my parents watched the doodle bug so that Sam and I could finally use our gift certificate to the Raleigh Walking Food Tours that we received as a wedding present....if you would like to see the amazing food we tried you can check out the new What2Eat section on the What2Wear facebook page here

2. the hubs and I got to go to a local bar at 3 in the afternoon and day drink and stuff our faces with pizza like it was our job......(parents of 14 month old baby boy do not get to day drink....or really drink at all for that matter haha) 

      2 a. getting to wear this cobalt blue jacket that i've had in my closet for 5 years and never worn, was it to a whole-in-the-wall bar, yes, erroneous on all accounts

3. because I had so much free time I got to read some ifb articles including 100 Reasons Why It's Great to be a Blogger where I found several reasons that were most definitely written for me....

      "Sequins during daylight hours are highly encouraged."

      "You can develop legitimate friendships with people you have tons in common with, without ever       meeting them in person (and it’s not creepy)."

      "It’s cooler not to dress sexy."

      "Shopping can be considered “market research.”

7. being fortunate enough to have the best of both worlds by getting to spend some quality time with the hubs and getting to see my baby doodle light up when experiencing new things

Hello friends, for some reason my video yesterday messed up my html code and I don't know if you could read my text/ funny quip of the day. Anywhos, I spotted this photo of someone at Paris Fashion Week and shrieked with excitement....I totally had similar items in my closet and I lurve the mix of a sporty sweatshirt with a brocade skirt. And the custom collar from Kawaii Kitsch by A by Allison from A's Fashion Files  totally takes the outfit to the next lev, if you know what I mean (obsessed). I'm also pretty stoked to debut my new diy sweatshirt (totally stollen from an ASOS sweater but like way cheaper) and diy (or as my husband called them bedazzled.....diy just sounds classier muhahah) sunglasses! Lastly, if you just asked yourself if that was a diaper in my see-through purse then you were correct......
