Funny Thing About Dreams…..

The funny thing about dreams is that they are like styling a favorite vintage piece. As incredible as a vintage piece can be chances are it probably won't fit correctly…. so you adapt it by adding a belt to shorten it, throwing some leather shorts under….and adding a leather moto jacket which pretty much takes every outfit to the next level. In the same way, sometimes you have to adapt your dreams….the original dream is still there but it has to be tweaked as your life twists and turns. I'm chasing my dream till I hit the moon….no matter how many times it has to be tweaked :)

Nothing beats the way the sun rises over the water and the way the air smells in the morning on the beach. Well…..a vintage lace skirt and some Valentino rockstuds come in for a close second :)

Not Your Average...

For obvious reasons I tend to stick with floaty fabrics and sandals while at the beach.....but I just got this vintage tuxedo jacket and couldn't wait to sport it with some cutoffs and ankle boots. Not your average lime green and hot pink sundress with pearls for the beach....... :)

PS please keep my hometown in your prayers , last night we were hit by a category 2 hurricane...and although I thought our house was going to blow away at 2 AM Doodle and I are safe and sound.....however, I'm already seeing a lot of damage to other's houses.

Still down at the beach and soaking in every breeze off of the ocean that I possibly can. Sheer vintage palazzo pants and a powder blue crop top were just the ticket to stay cool with temps still in the 90s. I'm discovering that the more vintage I acquire....the less turned on I am by current items in the stores...but I dont mind, plenty of vintage left to be unearthed.

Avintage brown mexican lace skirt (notice I did not say a Tibi midi skirt or neon tulle tutu) was just the ticket to make me feel beautiful for a Mother's Day lunch. It became a little more 'me' paired with other neutrals, a leather jacket and some black strappy heels. Oh and of course several Cars band aids add the perfect touch.

On the Harbor

So this past weekend this little harbor was literally our front yard….our cottage was about 5 feet from this dock and honestly I just want to sell all of my belongings….buy that one room cottage and let the island be my living room. Maybe one day that will happen….but for now I'll keep savoring the experience of wearing this vintage jumpsuit on the island and feeling like I was straight out of a movie set :)
